First of all, we thank all our patients who have waited patiently during this 2 months period for the hair transplant procedure. As we all know hair transplant is a very time-consuming procedure and requires patience of the surgical team as well as patients too. And the procedure has to be done very meticulously, and each step has to be performed whether it is slit making, graft extraction, graft preservation, or even implantation. Let’s see the precautions and protocol which we are following during the hair transplant surgery 1. Hygiene and aseptic precautions in OT setup : Operation theatre and lobby are thoroughly fumigated. 2. Hepa Filters Installation: There are HEPA filters in the operation theatre to filter out the air in the operation theater, which keeps the air clean throughout the procedure. 3. Patient Selection : Before any patient is selected for the Hair Transplant procedure, we properly enquire about any COVID-19 symptoms, History of any foreign travel, or travel to the containment zones in the last 1-month period, as well as if the history of any contact with the COVID positive patient. 4. All the investigations required are done and then a patient's fitness certificate is obtained. 5. Once the patient reaches the OT with a full stomach, his screening is done by taking his body temperature. 6. Then the oxygen saturation is also checked as the saturation drops in the corona positive cases. His Blood Pressure is also measured. 7. He has to fill the undertaking that he does not have any COVID - 19 symptoms and he has no travel or contact history. 8. The patient then changes into the sterile OT dress. He has to wear a surgical mask throughout the procedure. 9. The patient’s temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure are also recorded during the procedure also. 10. We ask our patients to do betadine gargle after every 2 hours to keep his mouth and throat clean. Staff Protocol to follow for hair transplant surgery during Covid-19 at HairMD 1. When the surgeon and whole surgical OT staff is screened for COVID - 19 symptoms, only then they are allowed to work in Hair Transplant operation theatre. 2. Even surgeons and surgical OT staff screening are done by taking their body temperature. 3. The whole surgical team is in full PPE gear throughout the procedure which includes Surgical gown, N 95 mask with a triple-layer mask, Surgical masks with face shield & double gloves. 4. With all these precautions we make sure that our patient gets the best possible care during the entire procedure. 5.
